and everyone is shopping madly - gift shopping, new year’s outfit shopping, one-for-you-one-for-me shopping. (here’s something for which to be thankful - you could be in my shoes where i’ve already shopped for diwali and am now in a morass of frantic hannukah and christmas shopping). i’m probably going to be posting little tips and tricks to get through it all, but to start with i’m going to give a little negative advice…do NOT use the vogue 10 most wanted list as a starting point for shopping for yourself, hinting around to a significant other/spouse, or for anyone you want to keep as a friend come December 26th. i mean, okay, i can live with the ysl sandals, though honestly, all that rock starts to look like a kid’s play-doh project. but the tom binns earrings are a bit, well, 1984 high school prom, and by the time you get to the LV murakami agenda, well, some part of your head wants examining if you think that’s a good idea. i’m all for kitch, but expensive deliberate kitch is beyond tacky.
