innovation of the year for skinny kiddies

one of the mother’s mailing lists is perpetually getting requests for names of brands that sell “slim” clothing; i’ve rarely found the answers totally satisfactory (and i assume the other moms feel the same since the question keeps coming up).
however, no one’s mentioned this amazing innovation that we found in a pair of second-hand chinovision by gap pants and a pair by janie and jack. on the inside of the loose waisted pants, there’s a tunnel with an elastic through it. the ends of the elastics stick out on either side and have little button holes - like four of them - in a row. and there’s a button on the inside of both sides of the waist closure, so you can pull the elastic as tight as you need and then button the side buttons into the little button holes; instant fit. it’s like a drawstring waist but with elastic and buttons instead of a knot. it’s amazing. it also means that we can use the same pair of pants whether the BWG is wearing cloth or disposable diapers.
whoever invented these pants should get a medal. and honorary uncle/aunt status. seriously.
